Like many value based programs, quality metrics are established in the Direct Contracting model to ensure providers are creating better patient outcomes while they work to reduce healthcare costs. Fortunately, Direct Contracting represents a dramatic reduction in onerous quality reporting when compared to other Medicare value-based programs.

Of particular note - Direct Contracting’s quality measures are almost entirely claims-based. This means that Medicare will determine how well you performed by looking through CMS’ claims data themselves, thus reducing extra work for providers by eliminating the need to submit anything!
